Frank Zappa "Hot Rats" (1969)

Never been much of a fan, and I've seen countless rips of his work posted throughout the internet, but never bothered to grab one up. Well, last week, one of my bandmates said that I had to get this album, that it was right up my alley. Well, reluctantly, I found it, and listened to it, and, well... I love it. Has some great Jazz elements, crossed-over with some nice guitar work, and classic rock flavor. Get it, y'all! You're sure to love. Back soon. Peace!

Ghostface Killah "Supreme Clientele - The Instrumentals" (2000)

I'm sorry, but I can't get enough of this guy... And with the latest in-fighting that's been taking place with-in the clan, he still remains to be the hardest working member of that group. Been looking for this one for a while, and I'm happy to bring this one to all you cats. In "Fish-scale Samples" vain, I bring this to you. Enjoy. And if you got that "Ironman" instrumentals, DO NOT HESITATE TO HIT ME UP!!! Peace!

"Classic Bollywood soundtrack funk from Kalyanji V. Shah & Anandji V. Shah (Bollywood's most prolific soundtrack composers during the 70's) spiced up a bit with the help of hip-hop producer Dan The Automator, and crate-digger, musician, DJ and producer extrordinaire: Josh Davis (also known as DJ Shadow)." courtesy of Movie Grooves

This disc is out of print by the way...

Camel Bobsled Race (DJ Shadow vs. DJ Q-Bert)

Well, Mr. Henry's post reminded me of this other little nugget that came out as the flip-side of Shadow's "Pre-Emptive Strike." It's a good mix, and has some off the hook arrangements by our man DJ Q-Bert. Get it, if you don't got it or haven't heard it. And if you have it, go home and listen to yours. Reminisce of the days when Shadow was on top... Enjoy. Peace!

D-Styles vs. DJ Shadow: Shadow Megamix

In my continued search to complete my DJ Shadow discography, I came across this nice little nugget at my new favourite hang-out Henry\'s House of Sound. It seems that this bonus cd was only made available for the folks that purchased the "Private Press" on-line through a particular website. Reminds me of the limited 2nd CD that came with the 1st pressing of "Pre-Emptive Strike." Anyways, enjoy guys. Back soon. Peace!

I know there's more out there, but this is my 1st go at it. Let me know if you have any that need to be heard. Stay up, y'all. Back soon. Peace!

Milk Crate Breaks presents...

"A Collection Of Various Interpretations of... "Get Out My Life, Woman" Vol. 1, one of the greatest "cover songs" in the soul universe (written by allen toussaint) used a numerous amount of times by everyone from A Tribe called Quest to Biz Markie. "Get Out My Life Woman" is one of those records you can't change that much, pretty much anyone who covers it starts it with a decent drum break, so buy it if its on the track listing of that 2 for a dollar bargain bin record you have in your hands..." courtesy of Milk Crate Breaks

Masta Ace Incorporated "Slaughterhouse" (1993)

Damn! I love this album... The 4th album from Masta Ace, and quiet frankly, I don't ever remeber hearing anything else from this guy. One of my favourite Hip-Hop/Rap albums from the early 90's, and has mad sentimental value for me. Most of the tracks're great, and the skits (which is an atempt to dis-credit gangsta-rap, which was the most popular during this period) are freakin' hilariously. Check it. Back soon. Peace!

The Grey Album by Danger Mouse

Dude, this is fuckin' amazing... I remeber how nuts everybody went when this shit came out. Mad props to another one of the hottest sites out there, Henry\'s House of Sound , for the conessiuer of beats, breaks, and every other kind of sick-ass music that you can find. Grab it up, ladies & gentlmen. A must have for any Beatles, Jay-Z, or Dangermouse fan. Peace!

The Roots of Tommy

I'm sorry, but "Tommy
" is one of the best albums ever made... Now I know lots of folks will disagree with me, but oh well, I said it... This is my all time favourite band, and if it wasn't for John Entwistle, then I wouldn't even be playing bass at all, and I'm sick (just check the bass work on the MySpace tracks). Anyway, another out of the ordinary post, but fuck it!!! I think you'll like it. Back soon. Peace!

Now this one is a bit of a stray away from the normal content that you'd get from me, but what the hell, I want you guys to keep your palettes open. Anyways, enjoy, and I promise I'll be back in full-force soon enough. Laters.

"Good God! Heavy Funk Covers of James Brown from All Over The World 1968-1974"

"Good God, indeed! A masterful compilation of some of the weirdest James Brown covers ever heard. Tracks here go way past usual, and most numbers are quite obscure, not even covered by soul singers! From different points around the globe, the artists are brought together by their love of James' original funky vision!" - Dusty Groove America
